The process of factory resetting the M1 Mac line to restore the Mac to factory defaults basically erasing all data and reinstalling a blank macOS is different with the M1 Mac line, including M1 MacBook Pro, M1 Mac mini, M1 iMac, and M1 MacBook Air, so let’s review how the process works. >back to factory defaults in both Tiger and Panther? Need to calibrate my Before you spend big on a new Mac, though, try a factory reset, which wipes your computer and reinstalls a clean.
>Does anyone know how to reset the 23" Cinema HD Display brightness values But as with any computer, sometimes things go wrong.
>To: Need to reset the Apple 23" Cinema HD Display brightness values back to factory defaults It's probably not good to go too low with LCDs, though, and even 90 cd/m2 may be too low already. So, it all depends: no one value is good in all cases. In brighter environments you can go as high as 160 cd/m2, whereas in dim ones it will do to set the display anywhere between 90 and 110 cd/m2 or so, the lower values being for dimmer enviroments.
That is the only "default" that matters: to start with a display whose video card signal is not at all altered by custom curves, so that the new curves created by your profiling software will have a chance to be properly created and applied, without interferences.Īs for the luminance values, I believe that, based on my experience, 120 to 140 cd/m2 are good figures for LCD displays in environments lit by lighting of average intensity.
I don't see a compelling reason to go back to "factory defaults", since (a) I doubt that there are any meaningful ones, or that they would do you any good even if there were, and (b) your calibration/profiling software already takes care of removing any vcgt curves from your video card before starting the caibration/profiling process. I may be misunderstanding your question, but why do you want to reset the ACD's brightness values? If you are using EyeOne Match with your EyeOne Display 2, all you need to do in order to calibrate your monitor is to adjust the brightness via the "Displays" panel in System Preferences until you reach your desired luminance.
